The sharp pencil is a documentary about Hassib Al-Jasem, an Iraqi artist and caricaturist living in Sweden.
He arrived as a refugee in the end of the eighties, without speaking the language and without knowing anything about Swedish politics.
Since then he has become a very appreciated and successful political caricaturist working at several different newspapers. How has he managed it?
"-Politics is the same, no matter where you are, and caricature is a universal language.
You just have to understand humanity."
"- When the small man gets in trouble, he screams: Ouch! That's what I try to draw, this "Ouch".
